Stock in, stock out, move, and set
A quick tour of the four everyday actions in Daizy, and when to use each one.
Almost every physical inventory event is one of four actions. Knowing which one to reach for keeps your history clean.
The four actions
- Stock in. Goods arrive into a location. You choose the item, the location, and a quantity.
- Stock out. Goods leave a location, whether you sold, used, or shipped them.
- Move. Stock changes place without changing what you own. From the warehouse to the shop, or from receiving to a shelf.
- Set. The quantity on the floor differs from the system, usually after a count. You enter the real quantity and the system posts the difference.
Transactions first, documents later
Use a plain stock movement when you just need the quantity updated. Reach for a purchase or sales order only when you need a document trail, such as a supplier invoice or customer order. Most teams start with transactions and add orders when the paperwork demands it.
One location per movement
A receive or issue is tied to a single place. Moving between places is a move, not two separate transactions. This keeps the ledger readable and the quantities correct.
