Managing items

Add and edit items in your catalog

Items are the catalog of things you stock. An item has identity — name, SKU, unit — not a quantity. Quantity lives on each item at a location.

Open Items in the sidebar to see the catalog.

Create an item

  1. Go to Items and choose Add item.
  2. Enter a name. Add a SKU if you use one.
  3. Choose the unit you count in (each, kg, box, and so on).
  4. Save. You can add a photo, tags, and extra fields after the item exists.

Keep the first save small. Identity is enough to start recording stock.

Edit an item

Open the item from the list. Change the name, SKU, unit, photo, or custom fields, then save.

If a field is missing, add it under Settings → Fields, then fill it in on the item.

Photos and import

  • Add a photo on the item record so operators can confirm they picked the right thing.
  • Import a CSV when you already have a catalog in a spreadsheet. Export the current list from Items if you need a template.

Stock from the item

The item record shows on-hand by location. Use Stock in, Stock out, Move, or Set when you need to change a quantity — do not type a new on-hand number into the catalog itself.
