Stock in, out, move, and set
The four ways to change quantity on hand
Stock tasks change the quantity of an item at a location. Each task is its own page in the sidebar. After you save, Daizy writes a movement so the history stays complete.
Stock in
Use Stock in when goods arrive, or when you load the quantity you already have.
- Choose the location that received the stock.
- Add item lines and quantities.
- Save. On-hand at that location increases.
If the organization has only one location, Daizy selects it for you.
Stock out
Use Stock out when you issue, consume, or ship stock.
- Choose the location the stock left.
- Add item lines and quantities.
- Save. On-hand at that location decreases.
You cannot take more than is on hand.
Move
Use Move when stock leaves one location and arrives at another. Two places always mean a move — do not record that as a stock out plus a stock in.
- Choose the source location, then the destination.
- Add item lines and quantities.
- Save. On-hand decreases at the source and increases at the destination.
Move stays in the sidebar even if you only have one location. Home shortcuts hide it until a second location exists.
Set
Use Set after a count, when the shelf does not match the book.
- Choose the location you counted.
- Enter the counted quantity for each item.
- Save. Daizy sets on-hand to that number and records the difference as a movement.
Set is a correction, not a receive or an issue. Prefer Stock in or Stock out when you know why the quantity changed.
